Why do we need new vision and concepts for our coexistence today? This question arises at the latest when you feel that the old templates of society no longer fit. Visions often have a difficult standing. Either they sound like dusty business plans or they float so far above the ground that you lose contact with the earth. For us, however, the vision of El Pueblo is not a rigid goal that you “check off” at some point. It is more like a North Star: it gives us direction when everyday life gets foggy or when we face decisions that require courage. It is about the question of how we can shape the space between our dreams and reality in a way that it does not overwhelm us, but inspires us. True resonance arises where we no longer have to pretend. Where the masks of professional everyday life or the expectations of society no longer find a place because they are simply not needed here. It is a place for people who are ready to show themselves in all their authenticity, with their talents, but also with their doubts. For only out of this honesty can a community emerge that is more than a mere shared apartment of convenience. It is a mutual growth that strikes roots in the depths and gives us stability.

People often ask us if we want to go back to nature. Our answer is: No, we want to go forward to nature. We want to combine the knowledge of our ancestors, the manual dexterity, the understanding of the soil and the cycles, with the possibilities of today. This is our concept of a modern autarky. We use clever technologies not for surveillance or self-optimization, but to give us freedom. Freedom from dependencies that we are often not even aware of while we function within the system.
In this context, the connection between body and mind is a central concern for us. We understand El Pueblo as an organism in which everything is connected to everything else. When we care for the earth, we care for ourselves. When we create clear structures in our togetherness, it calms our mind. It is a constant interaction, a causal chain of mindfulness. We don’t just want to live more beautifully, we want to live more deeply. And that requires an environment that not only allows this depth but actively promotes and protects it.
A vital part of our concepts is saying goodbye to perfectionism. Perfectionism is often just a form of fear that prevents us from starting at all or daring to take the first step. We in El Pueblo celebrate the process. We know that not everything will work immediately. Perhaps the first building will not be perfect, perhaps we will need three attempts for some social questions until we find a solution that feels right for everyone. This is not failure, this is learning in real time and genuine growth. This tolerance for errors is the fertilizer for creative development. When people no longer have to fear the judgment of others, the best ideas emerge. We want to create a space where experimentation is encouraged.
This applies to the architecture as much as to the shaping of our everyday lives. We are the creators of our own world. This is a great responsibility, yes, but it is also the key to a joy that is rarely found in prefabricated models of life. We are building a future that truly belongs to us.
